Advice: In his first rehab start, the right-hander didn't allow a single hit before exiting. Stroman threw 69 pitches in the contest. Stroman is working his way back from ACL surgery in spring and will next throw a bullpen session Friday before making his final rehab start Monday with Triple-A Buffalo. After that, the 24-year-old could be starting games for the Jays in a pennant race.

Advice: The conventional wisdom is that Stroman would likely return in a relief role since he's missed so much time. That might still wind up being the case, but him joining the rotation isn't being ruled out. Making his way back from ACL surgery, Stroman has thrown a couple simulated games and is slated to begin a rehab assignment next week.

Advice: Stroman will then join Triple-A Buffalo for a September 7 start. All that will come after the right-hander throws another simulated game on Friday after throwing 40 pitches this past Monday. Stroman has missed the entire season with a torn left ACL but could return in time to help the Jays in a potential postseason run.

Advice: Stroman will throw another simulated game this Friday and should then be cleared to join Buffalo for a minor league rehab assignment. If he continues to progress at such a rapid pace, the young right-hander could have a legitimate shot at making some starts for the Blue Jays in September. There's also been talk of the Jays using him as a reliever. Stroman, 24, has been out all season with a torn left ACL.
