Player Notes
Anthony Rizzo hit a two-run home run, his 26th of the season, in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.

Advice: Rizzo's two-run dong in the first inning against Bucs starter Chad Kuhl proved to be the difference in the game. The blast gave him 93 RBI, third-most in the National League, and Rizzo is also among the top-10 in homers, slugging percentage and OPS in the NL. The first baseman and MVP candidate is hitting .294/.391/.551 overall.

Anthony Rizzo is getting the day off Wednesday.

Advice: Kris Bryant will start at first base, Jorge Soler will play left field, and Javier Baez will handle the hot corner in the afternoon finale at San Diego's Petco Park. It's just a routine day of rest for Rizzo.

Anthony Rizzo went 4-for-5 on Monday to finish a game with a .300 average for the first time since April 9.

Advice: Rizzo got to .299 in the final game before the All-Star break, so it's not like he's been on a tear of late. Still, he's managed to keep contributing, even though he has just one homer in the last month.
