Player Notes
Gerrit Cole allowed one run over eight strong innings of work but settled for a no-decision against the Brewers on Sunday.

Advice: Cole looked like he was going to secure a hard-earned win before Mark Reynolds hit an eighth inning home run to tie the score at 1-1. He again appeared in line for a victory after the Bucs scored to take the lead in bottom half of the inning, but Jason Grilli was unable to close it out. Still, Cole gave up just six hits and a walk while striking out six in the game. He'll next take on the Cardinals in St. Louis on Friday.

Gerrit Cole was hammered for five runs over six innings and took the loss in Tuesday's start against the Reds.

Advice: Cole pitched reasonably well through five innings, but allowed two home runs in the sixth inning to fork over the lead. Overall, he allowed nine hits and walked three while striking out three. His results have been all over the place to start the season, but he'll try to right the ship on Sunday against the Brewers.
