Player Notes
Chris Carter hit a pair of solo homers in Friday's loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Carter has two two-homer games over the past four days and has gone deep six times over his last six games. He's now tied for eighth in the AL with 19 homers, though he's done it with a .203 batting average and a .280 on-base percentage. In other words, he's pretty much doing what was expected of him.

Chris Carter hit two home runs as the Astros bested the Rangers 8-3 on Tuesday.

Advice: Carter connected off of Neftali Feliz in the sixth inning before taking Aaron Poreda deep in the eighth. The homers give him four jacks in his last four games, and he's 7-for-20 with six runs scored and seven RBI in his last five. The blasts give him 17 home runs overall. It's about all he does well -- he's batting just .194/.274/.446 for the year -- but in AL-only leagues where pop is hard to come by, Carter is a decent source of power, if nothing else.

Chris Carter hit a grand slam in a losing cause Saturday against the Angels.

Advice: It was his second career slam, the other also coming this year. Despite that, Carter has just 35 RBI to go along with his 15 homers this year. His average has been below the Mendoza Line for a month now, and he shows no real sign of taking a step forward. 30-homer power alone isn't enough to make him a decent regular.
