Player Notes
Drew Storen needed only eight pitches to close out Sunday's 3-2 win versus the Phillies for his 23rd save.

Advice: Storen got Jeff Francoeur and pinch-hitter Darin Ruf to fly out before getting Cameron Rupp to hit a game-ending 6-3 ground out. The young right-hander has been nearly automatic in the ninth inning, now 23-for-25 in save chances with a 2.10 ERA and a 36/6 K/BB ratio in 30 innings.

Drew Storen tossed a scoreless ninth inning against the Phillies on Friday for his 22nd save of the season.

Advice: It wasn't easy, as he gave up two hits in the frame. The Phillies actually could have brought the tying run to the plate, but Domonic Brown was caught in a rundown between third base and home plate to end the ballgame. Storen had a hiccup against the Braves on Wednesday, but he's been excellent as Washington's closer this season, posting a 2.17 ERA with 36 strikeouts and just six walks over 29 innings.

Fri, Jun 26 Rotoworld
Drew Storen allowed a ninth-inning run, blowing the save, but the Nationals still wound up winning in 11 innings versus the Braves on Wednesday.

Advice: Storen allowed back-to-back singles to begin the ninth, putting the tying run at third base. After issuing an intentional walk to Joey Terdoslavich, Storen gave up a sacrifice fly to Kelly Johnson, knotting the game at 1-1. Fortunately for him, the Nationals were able to win it in extras. Storen has recorded the save in 21 of 23 opportunities thus far with a 2.25 ERA and a 36/6 K/BB ratio in 28 innings.
