Player Notes
Jonathan Lucroy went 1-for-4 with a single in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: As a team, the Brewers managed just four total hits in the game. Lucroy's single was one of them. Quiet game on the whole for the Brew Crew. This season, the catcher is hitting .248/.312/.366 with three homers and 20 RBI. He missed a significant early chunk of the year with injury and if he can stay healthy, he's a better offensive player than those numbers would indicate.

Jonathan Lucroy revealed Tuesday that he proposed a long-term contract extension to the Brewers in January.

Advice: "It was a proposal that would have kept me here for the rest of my career, most likely," Lucroy said. "We gave it to them in early January, and when we got to spring training, they informed us they weren't interested in doing anything at this point in time." Lucroy wouldn't reveal the details of the proposal, but it's really a moot point now. It's not surprising that the Brewers weren't in a rush to extend the catcher, as Lucroy is in the third season of a very team-friendly five-year, $11 million contract. The deal also includes a $5.25 million club option for 2017.
