Tommy Stokke of FanRag Sports reports Chris Sale was sent home from U.S. Cellular Field on Saturday after cutting up throwback jerseys that he did not want to wear.

Advice: This story takes another fascinating turn. Via FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal: "Sale asked that they not wear (throwbacks) on his day because they are uncomfortable. Things escalated when they wouldn't relent." Sale went after the jerseys with a knife during pregame batting practice, and then apparently exchanged some words with members of the White Sox front office for putting merchandise sales ahead of winning. He could be traded before the August 1 deadline, though that wouldn't really have anything to do with this odd incident. Matt Albers is starting in Sale's place on Saturday night against the Tigers.

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick hears the Chris Sale clubhouse incident was with front office staff.

Advice: Crasnick says the incident began with something "silly" and blew up into a bigger argument. It did not get physical, per a press release from the club, but the words exchanged were serious enough to cause the White Sox to scratch their ace from his scheduled start Saturday night against the Tigers. Matt Albers is going to take the mound instead versus Detroit.

According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, the White Sox are talking to teams about Chris Sale.

Advice: That's not exactly breaking news -- trade rumors have swirled around Sale for weeks -- but Passan's report is relevant because those discussions are ongoing even after the ace left-hander was scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against the Tigers because of a pregame clubhouse incident. We don't have any details about that incident, only that it was non-physical and did not cause an injury. This could be a very busy night for Sale's Rotoworld profile.

Chris Sale was scratched from his scheduled start Saturday night against the Tigers because of a pregame "clubhouse incident."

Advice: Sale was sent home from U.S. Cellular Field and the White Sox will start Matt Albers instead. Via a statement from the White Sox: "The incident, which was non-physical in nature, currently is under further investigation by the club. The White Sox will have no additional comment until the investigation is completed." Odd stuff.

Chris Sale was scratched from his scheduled start Saturday due to the flu.

Advice: The initial report didn't include the reason for the scratch, so trade speculation swirled for a few minutes. But it's just a minor illness. Matt Albers will start against the Tigers in Sale's place.

Jon Heyman of TodaysKnuckleball and FanRag Sports reports that the White Sox "are being inundated with calls of interest in ace Chris Sale."

Advice: The report comes on the heels of one from FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, who said that the White Sox were offered a "king's ransom" for Sale earlier this week and replied with a flat "no." Heyman says that the White Sox "are contemplating a serious sale," but it's unclear at this point whether they'll move Sale or Jose Quintana. He adds that the Red Sox are "greatly interested" in Sale and Quintana but "the list of interested suitors is expected to be extremely long" should the Pale Hose wind up putting them on the trade block.

According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the White Sox were offered a "king's ransom" for Chris Sale in the last 48 hours and replied with a flat "no."

Advice: There have been reports that the White Sox do not want to break up their starting rotation, which would pull Jose Quintana off the block too. Sale is under club control through 2019 and boasts a 3.18 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 129/29 K/BB ratio in 133 innings this season. He finished fourth in the American League Cy Young Award voting last year and probably should have been higher. The 27-year-old ace is not going anywhere.

Chris Sale was denied a victory after pitching eight innings of one-hit ball Monday against the Mariners.

Advice: Sale came out of a 3-0 game having thrown 100 pitches and then watched David Robertson give it away by allowing four runs in the bottom of the ninth. Sale can't complain too much, considering that he remains the major league leader in wins with 14 in 20 starts. This one, though, really seemed to be in the bag.

Fresh off his start in the All-Star Game, Chris Sale will start Monday against the Mariners.

Advice: He'll be followed by Jose Quintana on Tuesday. The White Sox have yet to announce a starter for Sunday's game against the Angels.
