Player Notes
Nationals placed RHP Stephen Strasburg on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain.

Advice: Strasburg suffered the injury during Saturday's start. It's really a shame, as he had been looking terrific since returning from a trapezius injury a couple weeks ago. How long Strasburg will be sidelined isn't known at this point. The Nats haven't revealed who will replace him in the rotation, but an off day on Thursday means they can wait until after the All-Star break to make a decision.

Stephen Strasburg left Saturday's start against the Giants with tightness in his left side.

Advice: Nationals manager Matt Williams said that he'll be reevaluated on Sunday, but the team won't take any chances given his recent injury history. There looks to be a strong chance that the right-hander is heading back to the disabled list.

Stephen Strasburg was forced to leave Saturday's start against the Giants with an apparent oblique injury.

Advice: Strasburg came back from the disabled list to throw a pair of gems last week, then hurled 3 2/3 scoreless frames against the Giants on Saturday before the injury bit him. It's unclear how serious the injury is, or how long he may be sidelined, but it's once again terrible news for the Nationals and fantasy owners alike, just as he was starting to roll. The Nats should have an update on his status shortly.

Stephen Strasburg delivered another strong performance on Sunday against the Phillies, earning the win after yielding only two runs in seven innings.

Advice: Strasburg limited the opposition to four hits and a walk while striking out nine. Jeff Francoeur accounted for both runs, hitting a solo home run in the second inning and then adding an RBI single in the sixth. Strasburg, who had been sidelined with a trapezius injury, has been solid in two starts since coming off of the disabled list. He'll need to keep it up to chip into his ugly 5.49 ERA. He has a 1.53 WHIP and a 60/16 K/BB ratio in 57 1/3 innings. Strasburg toes the rubber at home against the Giants next.
