Player Notes
Orioles acquired OF Gerardo Parra from the Brewers for RHP Zach Davies.

Advice: Two months later, the Orioles have replaced Alejandro De Aza with another Alejandro De Aza, but one who happens to be in the midst of a career season. Or, at least, a career three months so far. Parra was hitting .328/.369/.517 for Milwaukee, a huge improvement over his .265/.316/.387 lines from the previous two seasons. He's never played in the AL before, so he's facing a transition, and most likely, he'll begin to revert to something closer to his career numbers. That still probably makes him the Orioles' best option in left field against right-handers. He's just not really likely to be a difference maker.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Orioles are "closing in" on a trade for Gerardo Parra in exchange for pitching prospect Zach Davies.

Advice: CBS Sport' Jon Heyman says the deal is done, pending physicals. Parra has turned into a nice trade chip for Milwaukee by batting .328/.369/.517 with nine homers and nine stolen bases this season. The O's are also after Ben Revere as they look to remake their corner outfield spots.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman believes that the Orioles are the "best bet" to acquire Gerardo Parra from the Brewers.

Advice: It's been reported that they're also after Ben Revere, as they could use help at both corner outfield spots. Parra entered the season as a highly paid fourth outfielder but has turned into a nice trade chip for the Brewers by batting .328/.369/.517 with nine homers and nine stolen bases.

Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports that the Orioles have emerged as a strong possibility to acquire Gerardo Parra from the Brewers.

Advice: The Orioles continue to believe that they are in the thick of the race for one of the Wild Cards in the American League, and Parra would certainly be an upgrade both offensively and defensively. As the O's don't have the necessary prospects to land any of the top outfielders on the market, Parra seems like a tremendous fit.

Gerardo Parra went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, and three runs scored while extending his hitting streak to 11 games in Tuesday's win against the Giants.

Advice: Parra led off the game with a double and came around to score in a two-run opening frame. He led off the third with a single and scored, then tripled and scored in the seventh. Parra is having a career year, batting .324/.365/.517 with nine home runs, 31 RBI, 52 runs scored, and seven stolen bases. He could be wearing a new uniform in the next two days as the trade deadline approaches.
