Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Thursday that Brendan Ryan (back) "may have started some light baseball activity today."

Advice: Girardi wasn't sure, but either way it appears Ryan has made some minor progress. That said, he's not close to being activated from the disabled list, as it will be a while until he's game-ready and he's expected to need a good number of rehab at-bats.
