Player Notes
Tim Lincecum was brutalized for eight runs in 1 1/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Lincecum yielded homers to Jose Altuve and Luis Valbuena in the Astros' four-run first inning and then Altuve went yard again off the veteran right-hander in Houston's four-run second. Lincecum now has an 8.70 ERA and 2.30 WHIP in 30 innings (seven starts) with the Angels. He probably shouldn't get another turn in the rotation, but Anaheim is pretty desperate.

Tim Lincecum pitched poorly in Tuesday's win over the Rangers, surrendering five runs (three earned) on nine hits over five innings.

Advice: Lincecum did strike out seven, but there were few other positives to garner from the outing. Robinson Chirinos homered twice off the former ace, swatting a long solo homer in the second and a slightly-less-long two-run shot in the fourth. With Tyler Skaggs closing in on a return from Tommy John surgery and Lincecum cradling a tough 6.59 ERA and 2.09 WHIP through six starts, The Freak could find himself out a rotation spot in the near future.
