Neshek has been throwing all his pitches at full speed and says his velocity is almost back to where it was before November 2008 Tommy John surgery, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Recommendation: Neshek has recently started throwing sliders which was the last step in his rehab process. It sounds like he'll be ready for the start of spring training and could be a key set-up man for the Twins, but he may struggle with his control initially in his return from Tommy John surgery. |

RHP Pat Neshek, who has missed the last two seasons with elbow problems, the most recent resulting in Tommy John surgery, is slated to finish his throwing program this month, GM Bill Smith said. Once he's done, the reliever will be free to prepare for spring training as usual. Neshek became a reliable setup man for the Twins in 2007 but was injured early in the 2008 season and hasn't been played since. |
