Player Notes
The New Yost Post's Joel Sherman said on MLB Network Friday that Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto told him Howie Kendrick will not be traded.

Advice: Nothing can be ruled out, though, because as Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register notes, Dipoto said at this time last offseason that he didn't think he'd trade Mark Trumbo. The Blue Jays and Yankees are two clubs that are known to have interest in Kendrick if the Angels do decide to entertain trade offers.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that the Yankees have expressed interest in acquiring Howie Kendrick.

Advice: The Blue Jays have also called the Angels about the veteran second baseman, though Heyman writes Thursday that Anaheim is "more likely than not" to hang on to him. Kendrick, 31, batted .293/.347/.397 with seven home runs, 75 RBI, 14 stolen bases, and 85 runs scored in 157 games this past year for Anaheim. He's also a good defender.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Angels remain open to trading Howie Kendrick.

Advice: Rosenthal reported two weeks ago that the Angels are likely to trade either Kendrick or David Freese for pitching this offseason and it appears the plan hasn't changed. Kendrick is due to become a free agent after 2015. The Angels could replace him with Gordon Beckham or Grant Green at second base.
