3B Ryan Zimmerman was recognized as both the National League's best offensive and defensive third baseman in a span of two days. Zimmerman won his first Rawlings Gold Glove award on Nov. 11, selected by NL managers and coaches as the league's best defensive third baseman after leading all major-leaguers at his position in total chances (459) and assists (325). The following day, those same NL managers and coaches handed Zimmerman his first Silver Slugger award as the best offensive third baseman in the league. The 25-year-old set career highs with 33 homers, a .292 average and 110 runs while also driving in 106 runs. |
