3B Ryan Zimmerman has committed three errors over the past two games and now has 13 errors for the season (tied with Florida's Emilio Bonifacio and Atlanta's Chipper Jones for the most among major league third basemen). "It's frustrating, obviously," said Zimmerman, who has aspirations of winning a Gold Glove. "Nobody wants to make errors, and I'm trying hard not to. But you realize you go through things like that once a season probably. It's my goal not to let it happen. But unfortunately it did. Now you have to forget about it and move on." |

Zimmerman had two hits and scored twice, but also committed three errors in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to Florida. Advice: Zimmerman, who is batting .301 with 22 doubles on the season, is 11 for 30 (.367) with four doubles and a solo homer during an eight-game hitting streak. |

Zimmerman went 0-for-5 Wednesday and committed his 13th error of the season. Recommendation: He had been working on an eighth game hitting streak. Zimmerman finished June with a meager .263/.339/.404 line and just two home runs in 99 at-bats, but the defensive miscues are becoming as big an issue -- Zimmerman committed just 10 errors in 106 games last season. |
