Player Notes
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that Ryan Zimmerman (hamstring) is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Advice: While the team could look to add a second baseman, they'll roll in the interim with a combination of Danny Espinosa and Zach Walters with Anthony Rendon sliding over to cover third base.

Nationals manager Matt Williams said the MRI results for Ryan Zimmerman showed a "pretty substantial" hamstring strain.

Advice: Well, that's not good. Zimmerman was placed on the disabled list prior to Wednesday's game, and it doesn't appear he's anywhere close to returning to the club at this point. Anthony Rendon will get the majority of the starts at third base with Zimmerman sidelined.

Nationals placed 3B Ryan Zimmerman on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.

Advice: The Nationals are still awaiting MRI results before they determine how long the third baseman will be sidelined, but it's worth noting that Zimmerman admitting to feeling worse Wednesday than when he suffered the injury Tuesday. He could be looking at an extended stay on the DL. Anthony Rendon will handle third base and Danny Espinosa will be at second while Zimmerman is on the shelf. Zach Walters has replaced Zimmerman on the roster.

Ryan Zimmerman (hamstring) is expected to be placed on the disabled list.

Advice: Zimmerman left Tuesday's game against the Rockies with a strained right hamstring. The Nationals are still awaiting MRI results before they determine how long the third baseman will be sidelined, but obviously they expect him to miss at least a couple weeks. Anthony Rendon will handle third base and Danny Espinosa will be at second while Zimmerman is on the shelf. Zach Walters is replacing Zimmerman on the roster.

Ryan Zimmerman will undergo an MRI after leaving Tuesday's game against the Rockies with a strained right hamstring.

Advice: It's looking like Zimmerman is headed to the disabled list, but the Nationals won't know for sure until the test results come back. It would be his second trip to the DL this season, as he missed nearly two months with a fractured thumb. The Nats would go back to Anthony Rendon at third base and Danny Espinosa at second if Zimmerman is on the shelf for a while.
