Player Notes
Ryan Zimmerman's solo home run in the second inning of Thursday afternoon's win over the Marlins would be the only run either team scored in the game.

Advice: Zimmerman took a Dan Haren offering for a ride in the second inning. Little did he know, that would be the only run scored in the game. Max Scherzer made sure it stood up, as the Nationals improved to 54-46 with the win. The slugger was just recently activated from the disabled list after missing over a month and a half with plantar fasciitis of the left foot. He's hitting .216/.272/.369 with six homers and 35 RBI over 222 at-bats. If he's healthy, those numbers should rise, but betting on Zimmerman's health is always a risky proposition.

Nationals activated 1B Ryan Zimmerman from the 15-day disabled list.

Advice: Zimmerman missed over a month and a half with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He went 1-for-15 on his rehab assignment and is batting just .209/.265/.346 in 234 plate appearances this season for the Nationals.

Ryan Zimmerman (foot) will be activated from the disabled list for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: The Nationals got Anthony Rendon back over the weekend and they are now prepared to add Jayson Werth and Zimmerman back into the mix. Sidelined since early June with plantar fasciitis, Zimmerman went just 1-for-15 during his minor league rehab assignment, but the important thing is that the rest has done him good.
