C Brian McCann missed his third consecutive start with flu-like symptoms: chills, aches, overall weakness. He has been dressing and sitting on the bench in case of emergency, because the Braves carry only two catchers on the roster. OF Matt Diaz is the emergency-emergency catcher, but Diaz has the flu bug, too.

McCann (illness) remains out of the lineup Thursday, the Braves' official Twitter feed reports.
Recommendation: He hasn't played since Monday, and the Braves have not made any indication to suggest that he's available off the bench Thursday night. David Ross will catch Randall Delgado against the Reds.
