Player Notes
Brian McCann is not in the Yankees' lineup Wednesday.

Advice: It's a simple day off. John Ryan Murphy is at catcher in McCann's place.

Brian McCann went 1-for-2 with a three-run homer, four total RBI and three walks in Friday's 15-4 demolition of the Braves.

Advice: McCann joined the party late, but he at least brought a nice bottle of wine in the form of a three-run homer in the eighth inning. By season's end, the catcher's numbers--across the board--should surpass what he did in 2014. It's very likely that he'll end up setting personal-bests for home runs (he's hit 24 twice) and RBI (he drove in 94 in 2009). Right now, he's slashing .247/.319/.477 with 23 homers and 83 RBI.

Brian McCann is out of the Yankees' lineup Tuesday against the Astros.

Advice: He's getting a routine day off. John Ryan Murphy will start behind the plate.

Brian McCann singled three times and drew a walk in four plate appearances as the Yankees eked out a win over the Astros on Monday.

Advice: McCann wasn't brought home after any of his three singles, but drew a crucial walk to load the bases with no outs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Carlos Beltran then knocked in the game's only run with a walk-off sacrifice fly. McCann has a solid .248/.317/.474 triple-slash line along with 22 home runs and 75 RBI on the year.
