Player Notes
Yankees manager Joe Girardi confirmed Wednesday that Brian McCann is no longer the club's primary catcher.

Advice: That title now belongs to 23-year-old Gary Sanchez, who slugged two home runs on Tuesday night against the Blue Jays and is batting .372 with a 1.121 OPS in 45 plate appearances since his return to the majors on August 3. McCann will continue to get starts at DH. Still owed more than $50 million, he could become a trade candidate this winter.
