Nov 4 1B Ryan Howard connected for his first home run of the World Series in the sixth inning. But Howard also struck out in the eighth, setting a record for most strikeouts in a Series with 13. Howard finished the postseason with 17 RBIs, tying the all-time record for an NL player. San Francisco's Rich Aurilia and Florida's Ivan Rodriguez each had 17 RBIs in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Nov 3 Howard struck out three times against starter A.J. Burnett and four times in all Thursday in a 3-1 loss to the Yankees in Game 2 of the World Series. Series.

Advice: Howard gave credit where credit was due. "A.J.'s breaking ball, it starts in the other batter's box," he said. "That's a nasty pitch, nasty today."
