1B Ryan Howard connected for his first home run of the World Series in the sixth inning. But Howard also struck out in the eighth, setting a record for most strikeouts in a Series with 13. Howard finished the postseason with 17 RBIs, tying the all-time record for an NL player. San Francisco's Rich Aurilia and Florida's Ivan Rodriguez each had 17 RBIs in 2002 and 2003, respectively.

Howard struck out three times against starter A.J. Burnett and four times in all Thursday in a 3-1 loss to the Yankees in Game 2 of the World Series. Series.
Advice: Howard gave credit where credit was due. "A.J.'s breaking ball, it starts in the other batter's box," he said. "That's a nasty pitch, nasty today."
