1B Ryan Howard still wasn't feeling his finest after twice running to the emergency room last weekend and being diagnosed Monday with acute sinusitis. But, thanks to prescribed antibiotics, he no longer had a high fever or chills, and he was able to take a commercial flight to Tampa, where he met the Phillies and returned to his normal cleanup spot as the designated hitter for the series-opener against the Rays.
"Am I 100 percent? No, but I'm a lot better," Howard said before going 1-for-4 with a first-inning RBI double. "I'm probably about 75, 80 percent." |
