Wright contributed a two-run double in five at-bats Thursday and finished the Mets' six-game road trip 5-for-26, the NY Daily News reports. Recommendation: "He's just over-swinging - coming off the ball, a lot of upper body," hitting coach Howard Johnson said. "That's going to happen. You're going to go through those periods throughout the year, those 20 at-bats where you're not going to feel all that great." Wright has been scuffling the past 15 games, as his average has dropped from .359 to .262, but he has driven in nine runs in that stretch and said he felt a lot more comfortable his last two at-bats Thursday, which he will hopefully carry forward with him to the team's upcoming home stand. |
