Player Notes
David Wright is headed to California to have his back examined by a specialist.

Advice: Wright was diagnosed last week with spinal stenosis, a narrowing of the spinal column, and the veteran third baseman is trying to figure out a treatment plan. More should be known in the next couple of days. It's probably going to be a while before we see him return to the Mets' active roster.

David Wright has been diagnosed with spinal stenosis, a narrowing of the spinal column.

Advice: The Mets believe that the injury will heal, though the process is going to take some time. What that means for Wright's return to the active roster is completely unknown. He has been shut down completely for the next week and will then be re-evaluated.

David Wright (back) suffered another setback in his recovery and has been shut down for another week.

Advice: His ailing back is still an issue and continues to give him problems. He had been making progress and was scheduled to begin a rehab assignment at some point next week, but now those plans have been scratched. There is no clear timetable for his return at the moment.

David Wright (hamstring, back) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment at some point next week.

Advice: Wright began taking batting practice on Friday and continues to make progress in his recovery from a right hamstring strain and a back injury that he suffered during rehab. Barring any further setbacks, he should rejoin the Mets in early June.

The Mets aren't sure when David Wright (hamstring, back) will be ready to play minor league rehab games.

Advice: Wright began to ramp up some baseball activities this week and is said to be "making progress," but the Mets aren't going to rush him. The veteran third baseman hit the disabled list on April 15 due to a right hamstring strain and his return has been delayed due to a back injury.

David Wright (hamstring, back) resumed baseball activities Monday in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Advice: He did everything but swing a bat. Wright was placed on the disabled list April 15 with a right hamstring strain and suffered a back injury while rehabbing that strain. There's no exact timetable for the veteran third baseman's return, but he should be good by early June if he is able to avoid further setbacks.
