Player Notes
David Wright (hamstring, back) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment at some point next week.

Advice: Wright began taking batting practice on Friday and continues to make progress in his recovery from a right hamstring strain and a back injury that he suffered during rehab. Barring any further setbacks, he should rejoin the Mets in early June.

The Mets aren't sure when David Wright (hamstring, back) will be ready to play minor league rehab games.

Advice: Wright began to ramp up some baseball activities this week and is said to be "making progress," but the Mets aren't going to rush him. The veteran third baseman hit the disabled list on April 15 due to a right hamstring strain and his return has been delayed due to a back injury.

David Wright (hamstring, back) resumed baseball activities Monday in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Advice: He did everything but swing a bat. Wright was placed on the disabled list April 15 with a right hamstring strain and suffered a back injury while rehabbing that strain. There's no exact timetable for the veteran third baseman's return, but he should be good by early June if he is able to avoid further setbacks.

David Wright (hamstring, back) will resume baseball activities on Monday.

Advice: It doesn't mean he's poised to return to the Mets' lineup soon, as Wright has been shut down for over a week and will need a rehab assignment eventually. Still, it's a nice step in the right direction after an absence that's dragged on longer than expected. Wright is on the disabled list with a hamstring injury, but it's a back issue that's holding up his recovery.

The Mets hope David Wright (hamstring, back) will be cleared to resume activities on Monday.

Advice: Wright had a setback a week ago with a back issue and has recovered from it more slowly than expected. He seems to be doing better now, though, and could be cleared for a rehab assignment not long after resuming activities. The third baseman seems to be tracking towards and early June return.

David Wright (hamstring, back) still hasn't been cleared to resume baseball activities.

Advice: That's now two straight days that the Mets were hoping he'd be cleared but he wasn't. Wright is on the disabled list with a hamstring injury, but it's a back issue that's holding up his recovery. It's been determined that he's not dealing with another stress fracture as he did in 2011, but there's no timetable for his return. "He's dying to get back out there, but there's no real timetable when that's going to happen," manager Terry Collins said. "The only good news is he feels better."
