Player Notes
Mark Teixeira went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and three walks in Thursday's win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Teixeira's third-inning blast off of Felix Doubront was his first of the season. He entered the game with just one extra base hit in 28 trips to the plate, as he is still dealing with the effects of wrist surgery last season. While the home run was nice to see, he'll have to show that power on a more consistent basis before his stock will rise.

Mark Teixeira fanned all four times he was up Wednesday in the loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: It's his seventh career four-strikeout game, but the first of those in which he struck out every single time up. We're just not very optimistic about Teixeira's chances of becoming a quality fantasy first baseman this year as he deals with the aftermath of last year's wrist surgery.

Yankees activated 1B Mark Teixeira from the 15-day disabled list.

Advice: Teixeira wound up missing the minimum amount of time with a hamstring strain. He returns to a .250/.308/.250 batting line and is at first base and hitting fifth in Sunday's game against the Rays.

Mark Teixeira (hamstring) said he "couldn't be happier" with how he felt during an extended spring training game Friday.

Advice: Teixeira went just 1-for-5 in the game, but the most important thing is that he's feeling healthy. The first baseman remains on track to be activated from the disabled list on Sunday, the first day he's eligible.

Mark Teixeira (hamstring) played three innings at extended spring training on Thursday afternoon.

Advice: Teixeira is eligible to return from the disabled list on Sunday and told George King III of the New York Post that he will be "disappointed" if the Yankees don't activate him. He's been out since April 5 with a hamstring strain.
