Player Notes
Mark Teixeira went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Astros.

Advice: The multi-hit game was the first for Teixeira since the All-Star break, and he's hitting just .193 in the month of July. There aren't likely to be many suitors for the 36-year-old and the Yankees still have some hope for a playoff push despite recently dealing closer Aroldis Chapman, so they'll continue running Teixeira out there in hopes he begins to find his way at the dish. Tuesday was a good start.

Mark Teixeira (foot) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Giants.

Advice: Teixeira burned Giants starter Jeff Samardzija for a solo home run in the second inning. After hitting a stellar .255/.357/.548 with 31 homers and 79 RBI last season, the 2016 campaign has been nothing short of a nightmare for Teixeira. Injuries have limited the veteran slugger to 67 games played, and when he has played, the results have been ugly. Like .188/.269/.325 triple-slash ugly. One can always hope that he finds himself in the final two months of the season, but there is nothing in Teixeira's season-long numbers that would suggest a major hot streak might be coming down the pike.

Sun, Jul 24 Rotoworld
Mark Teixeira (foot) homered and drew two walks in his return to the Yankees' lineup Wednesday.

Advice: Teixeira missed a handful of games after fouling a ball off his left foot over the weekend. The veteran first baseman slugged a solo shot in the fourth inning off Orioles starter Yovani Gallardo and then tallied his second RBI of the evening on a bases-loaded walk in the sixth. Teixeira is still batting just .189/.271/.320 with eight home runs and 22 RBI in 64 total games this season.

Thu, Jul 21 Rotoworld
Mark Teixeira (foot) is absent from the Yankees' lineup again Tuesday versus the Orioles.

Advice: Teixeira fouled a ball off his foot on Friday and continues to feel some level of discomfort. It's possible he'll sit out the entire series against the Orioles. Rob Refsnyder will continue to fill in at first base for now.
