Lilly allowed three runs - two earned - on eight hits and two walks and took Tuesday's loss to the Pirates. He struck out seven. Recommendation: Lilly was hit hard his last time out, but he put together a solid start against Pittsburgh. He was a victim of bad luck as the Pirates were shut out by Ross Ohlendorf. |

LHP Ted Lilly had run off a string of five straight quality starts until losing at Detroit. Lilly fell to 7-5 with a 3.41 ERA. He was around the plate, as he usually is, with 78 of his 107 pitches going for strikes. However, the Tigers hit many of those strikes hard, suggesting that Lilly was missing his spots within the strike zone. |
