Who would go watch Redskins-Giants in Week 17? The answer seems to be ‘nobody’

The Washington Redskins and New York Giants were both eliminated from the playoff race earlier this month. They were just playing out the string at MetLife Stadium on Sunday in the regular-season finale for each team. And then it started to pour rain.

So by the time the game came back from halftime, there were only a few souls left in the stands who either are true die-hard fans of either team, or were being held against their will.

Sunday was the last game before MetLife Stadium hosts the Super Bowl, and we'd imagine that it'll be a little more packed for the championship game in February. Here are some photos of the empty seats:

That's in contrast to the 54,347 fans who showed up to the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium for a Texas Class 5A Division I high school championship game between Allen and Pearland. It was the first time the stadium's upper deck was opened for a high school game.
