SEATTLE – After the opening kickoff on Monday night, the Seahawks' video board implored the fans to take back the Guinness World Record for crowd noise.

The fans probably didn't need to be prodded.

A raucous Seahawks crowd, excited for a meeting against the New Orleans Saints on "Monday Night Football," did take back the record for loudest recorded crowd at an outdoor sporting event, a record they broke early this season but was bested by the Chiefs crowd at Arrowhead Stadium on Oct. 13. The Chiefs crowd got up to 137.5 decibels. The Seahawks fans cranked it up to 137.6 dB. The level at which pain begins is 125 dB.

So the Seahawks have the record again. Considering that Seattle is likely to host at least one playoff game in January, it's quite possible the fans will top their own record later this season.
