Detroit Red Wings prospect Trey Augustine made 20 saves Friday in his first World Championship start and the United States defeated Poland 4-1 in Ostrava, Czechia. It was the third appearance for Augustine, 19, in the tournament. He previously relieved an injured Alex Lyon and replaced an ineffective Alex Nedeljkovic. Augustine ranks third in goals-against average (1.37) and fourth in save percentage (.929) among all goalies. He has stopped 39-of-42 shots in three games.
