Former Michigan State quarterback Brian Hoyer isn't about to win any playing time from cover boy Tom Brady in New England. But he did score a victory over the ex-Michigan slinger on Wednesday, when the face of the franchise met the press decked in MSU gear as penance for a bet he made with Hoyer over last Saturday's Spartans-Wolverines showdown, a 34-17 Michigan State win:
Did you catch the shame burning into his soul there below the microphones? Brady told the Boston Herald, "I hate to do it, bro. But I lost a bet," although it apparently didn't include the Spartan hat waiting for the cameras in his locker: Brady quickly tossed it.
Coincidentally, another former Wolverine quarterback, Elvis Grbac, is the QB coach for St. Ignatius High in Ohio, where Hoyer's brother, Matt, is a senior starter. Grbac reportedly spent Wednesday's practice in a Spartan cap, too.
