Sir Nick Faldo has said that Rory McIlroy will be haunted forever by the late collapse which saw him miss out on a glorious opportunity to end his majors drought at the US Open at Pinehurst. Four birdies in the space of five holes from the ninth had given McIlroy a two-shot lead as he chased a fifth major title and a first since 2014, only for the world number three to falter by dropping shots at three of the last four holes. Speaking on Sky Sports, six-time major winner Nick Faldo said: "That's going to haunt Rory for the rest of his life, those two misses."

The incoming 8th grader at St. Luke Catholic School set a record for youngest person to hit a hole-in-one at Meridian Hills in its 101-year history.
Rory McIlroy saw his greatest chance to end his major drought slip through his grasp in one of golf’s most memorable collapses as he let a two-shot lead disappear across the final four holes of the US Open.
