Manchester United's flailing season could use the late confidence boost that would come from putting a big crimp in Arsenal's title hopes on Sunday at Old Trafford.
In the race to secure the last promotion spot for the Premier League, Norwich and Leeds drew 0-0 in the first-leg of their Championship play-off semifinal on Sunday. There was nothing to separate the teams at Carrow Road, with neither goalkeeper overly troubled. Leeds finished the regular season in third place in England's second tier on 90 points.
St. Pauli returned to the Bundesliga on Sunday with a 3-1 win over relegated Osnabrück in Germany’s second division. Oladapo Afolayan scored twice and set up Marcel Hartel for St. Pauli’s third goal as the home team moved top of the league with an unassailable six-point lead over third-place Fortuna Düsseldorf with one round remaining. The top two in the division are promoted, while the third-place finisher – now certain to be Düsseldorf – faces a two-leg playoff against the team that finishes third from bottom in the Bundesliga — currently Union Berlin — to see which will play in the top division next season.
Neither team has won this competition before but who will go on to lift the trophy?
