The
percentage of NFL wide receivers who are actually happy seems to be dwindling by
the moment. Adding the recently-disgruntled Anquan Boldin to the list, that
number seems like it's down around 8% or so.
According to the NFL Network's Adam Schefter, who I don't believe has slept in six days, Boldin has requested that the Cardinals trade him.
As much as I wonder why it's always receivers that are wearing the grumpy pants, I really can't blame Boldin on this one. He's been a fantastic player for the Cardinals, as well as a model citizen. He's performed as well as his counterpart, Larry Fitzgerald, and yet, he's currently due to watch Fitzgerald make almost four times what he's going to be making.
Put yourself in his shoes. You're paid pretty well, and you're at least as good at your job as the slobbering nozzle two cubicles down. But his paychecks dwarf yours. If you're any kind of a man, you're either going to ask for a raise, quit, or at the very least, set that guy's cubicle on fire.
My point is that this is not a Chad Johnson situation. Johnson causes half the problems with his team, draws attention to himself at every opportunity, and then gets mad and wants to leave when he doesn't get along with everyone in the locker room.
Boldin's just a guy who wants to be compensated for his work.

He should be able to re-negotiate for what he is worth. And I think AQ is worth a lot more to AZ than his stats alone.

Basically, Anquan Boldin is EVERYTHING Chap Johnson is not.
Chap wanted to be traded ever since the Cincinatti beat writers called him out for blaming Palmer last year after the Patriot blowout, when it was Johson who ran the wrong route and caused the interception. Carson, ever the team player, accepted the blame even though he knew Johson was in the wrong.
If Chap "I be, all 'bout me" Johson was a real team player, then last year in the first game of the season, his Jacket would have said: "Super-Bowl or BUST". But not Chappy... it was all about him.
I'd take Boldin over Johnson every single time.
Teams with better chemistry almost always beat the more talented ones...
