Unless you're Jason Kidd(notes) or LeBron James(notes), triple-doubles don't come along every day. They're almost like the bird in the movie "Up," in that they are both rare but quite beautiful. How's that for a pop culture analogy? Well, we're going to take it a step further.
Just like that bird, the quest for a triple-double can make people go crazy. There's Anthony Bowie, who called a timeout in the waning seconds of a game to diagram a play to get his 10th assist. And who can forget Ricky Davis(notes) shooting at the wrong basket, hoping for his 10th rebound? Well, let's add Andray Blatche's(notes) sudden dedication to rebounding to this ignominious list.
To be fair, Blatche's new found interest in rebounding isn't nearly as egregious as the stunts pulled by Bowie and Davis. I think it's kind of funny, actually. And even Blatche seems to understand how ridiculous he's being, even as he's doing it. Nonetheless, Andray is certainly gunnin' for stats, so he gets the gas face.
Or, as Andray himself would say, "c'mon son."
