Player Notes
Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez didn't rule out the possibility that Evan Gattis could play 140 games next season between left field and catcher.

Advice: Christian Bethancourt is considered the catcher of the future for Atlanta, so Gonzalez will have to get creative to find regular playing time for Gattis. While playing left field is an option, he would be a huge liability defensively.

Evan Gattis (kidney stone) is back in the Braves' starting lineup Thursday against the Pirates.

Advice: It'll be his first start since September 7. Gattis has battled strep throat and a kidney stone over the past two-plus weeks and is only expected to play about five innings in his return to action Thursday night. He will start at catcher and bat sixth.

Evan Gattis grounded out as a pinch-hitter in his return to action Saturday.

Advice: It was Gattis' first appearance since September 7, as he's been nursing strep throat and a kidney stone. He's expected to only be available off the bench for the next few days, but the Braves hope he'll be ready to start before the end of the season.
