Player Notes
David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution writes that "there's at least a pretty good chance" that Evan Gattis will be traded this offseason.

Advice: The Braves' value Gattis' power, but they have Christian Bethancourt in the pipeline, who is far superior behind the plate. There's also no clear fit for him in the outfield, where he would likely be a liability anyway. O'Brien writes that a trade to an American League might be the best thing for him. Gattis has 41 home runs in 197 games over the past two seasons, so he would fetch a nice return.

Evan Gattis doubled, hit a solo homer and scored two runs in Sunday's loss to the Reds.

Advice: They had been the Braves' lone two tallies before Jason Heyward plated Emilio Bonifacio with two out in the ninth. Atlanta then loaded the bases, but Jonathan Broxton got Justin Upton to ground out to end it. Gattis is a poor defensive catcher and will likely have to move to another position eventually, but with 41 homers -- 20 this season -- over 675 at-bats during his career, his power is undeniable.
