Player Notes
Jose Abreu hit his 32nd home run of the season in Tuesday's loss to the Orioles.

Advice: The solo homer was the only run the Sox could manage against Orioles starter Chris Tillman on the night. It was also Abreu's only hit in four at-bats. The first baseman was due for a long ball, as he hadn't homered since July 29 before the first inning blast. Abreu has just seven RBI in 17 games this month, but that anomaly should correct itself soon.

Jose Abreu went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI, leading the White Sox offense in an 11-5 thrashing of the Blue Jays on Friday.

Advice: Abreu got the scoring started with an RBI single in the first inning and delivered a two-run single as part of a five-run uprising in the fifth inning. The Cuban slugger has been outstanding in his first season stateside, slashing .304/.361/.600 with 31 homers and a league-leading 89 RBI.

Jose Abreu went 0-for-5 with a run scored in Tuesday's 10-inning triumph over the Giants.

Advice: Abreu leads the American League with 31 homers but hasn't gone deep in a season-worst 13 straight games. The power outage, and his August struggles as a whole, came out of nowhere: The All-Star first baseman lost a 21-game hitting streak on August 2. Since that date, a span of 10 games, he's gone 7-for-36 (.194) with only one extra-base hit (a double). Maybe he can get his bat going again in the next few days in San Francisco. Abreu has at least one hit in 28 of 30 road games. He entered tonight batting .391 over his past 29 road contests with nine homers and 24 RBI.
