Player Notes
Robbie Ross got the win with 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball as the Rangers shut out the Mariners 5-0 on Tuesday.

Advice: Ross pitched well, allowing only five hits (all singles), issuing no walks, and striking out two to lower his ERA to 1.00. While the ERA tells the story of a successful pitcher, Tuesday's start was his first truly impressive outing of the season. Regardless, his spot in the rotation will be made more secure with further positive results.

Robbie Ross held the Red Sox to an unearned run over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision Wednesday.

Advice: Ross walked six and threw just 51 of his 98 pitches for strikes, but he took advantage of the double play-happy Red Sox, getting three of them. The last was a strike-em-out, throw-em out to end the fourth. While the wildness wasn't good, he's been effective in both of his starts to date, putting him in position to keep his rotation spot after Matt Harrison returns.
