Player Notes
Robbie Ross allowed seven runs -- four earned -- over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the White Sox on Sunday.

Advice: It was an odd line for Ross, who allowed seven hits, didn't walk a batter and struck out eight in the outing. Unfortunately for the southpaw, two of those hits left the playing field, and another run scored after reaching on a wild pitch following a strikeout. Ross has generally been very good since making the conversion to starter, so Sunday's performance isn't too alarming. He'll try to keep the ball in the yard Saturday when the Rangers visit the Mariners.

Robbie Ross got the win with 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball as the Rangers shut out the Mariners 5-0 on Tuesday.

Advice: Ross pitched well, allowing only five hits (all singles), issuing no walks, and striking out two to lower his ERA to 1.00. While the ERA tells the story of a successful pitcher, Tuesday's start was his first truly impressive outing of the season. Regardless, his spot in the rotation will be made more secure with further positive results.
