Gyorko has been called up to Triple-A Tucson, Dan Hayes of the North County Times reports.
Recommendation: Gyorko, who some analysts rank among the Padres' top five prospects, had been raking at Double-A San Antonio, where he's gotten on-base at a .356 clip while contributing 6 homers and 17 RBI. Gyorko has seen time and both second and third base this season. His easiest path to the majors is likely at second, where Orlando Hudson is batting a paltry .217 and isn't a part of the Padres' long-term plans.
