Player Notes
Red Sox acquired LHP Wade Miley from the Diamondbacks for RHP Rubby De La Rosa, RHP Allen Webster and INF Raymel Flores.

Advice: The 28-year-old southpaw will join a completely revamped Red Sox rotation that has added Rick Porcello and Justin Masterson in recent days. Miley has proven to be a very durable option, averaging over 199 innings over each of the last three seasons while compiling a 3.74 ERA and 474/178 K/BB ratio. He is prone to the long ball though, having surrendered at least 20 home runs in each of the past two seasons, and the move to Fenway Park is unlikely to alleviate that problem.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the trade sending Wade Miley to the Red Sox is done.

Advice: The deal isn't official yet, as the players likely still have to take physicals, but the two sides have finally agreed on the particulars. The Diamondbacks are expected to receive Allen Webster, Rubby De La Rosa and an unnamed minor leaguer in exchange for the left-hander. The Red Sox have remade their rotation in a hurry, adding Rick Porcello and Justin Masterson in addition to Miley.

USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports that the trade sending Wade Miley to the Red Sox will be made official by Saturday.

Advice: Allen Webster, Rubby De La Rosa and a minor leaguer will head to Arizona in the deal. Although the two sides are still haggling over who the prospect will be, it doesn't sound like it will be anything that could make the trade fall apart. Miley, who is arbitration-eligible for the first time this offseason, held a 4.34 ERA in 33 starts this past season for the Diamondbacks.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports the Red Sox have an agreement in place to acquire Wade Miley from the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Per Rosenthal, Allen Webster, Rubby De La Rosa and a minor leaguer will head to Arizona in the deal. A deal between the two clubs appeared to be imminent Wednesday afternoon but suddenly fizzled, opening the door for the Marlins and Rangers to get involved in talks for the 28-year-old. Miley immediately becomes one of the best starters on the Red Sox heading into 2015.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Marlins and Rangers are "out" on Wade Miley.

Advice: And Bob Nightengale of USA Today has reported that the Red Sox are not currently involved in negotiations for the Arizona left-hander. Multiple previous reports said Miley was on the verge of being traded, but it sounds like that has all collapsed. Talks could of course reignite for the 28-year-old starter before teams depart the Winter Meetings in San Diego.

According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, the Red Sox are not involved in trade talks for Wade Miley.

Advice: This report from Nightengale conflicts what many others are saying -- including Sean McAdam of CSN New England and Jon Morosi of FOX Sports, both of whom tweeted that Miley is close to being dealt to Boston. Nightengale says the Marlins are still in the mix to get the 28-year-old left-hander from Arizona. Things are getting nutty at the Winter Meetings.

Sean McAdam of CSN New England heard from an opposing-team source that the Red Sox are close to acquiring starter Wade Miley from the Diamondbacks.

Advice: That was quick. The Red Sox lost out on Jon Lester late Tuesday night, so they turned their attention to the trade block and are now preparing a trade package that will pluck the 28-year-old Miley out of Arizona. Miley had a 4.34 ERA in 33 starts this past season for the Diamondbacks, but Chase Field plays extremely hitter-friendly. He struck out 183 batters in 201 1/3 innings.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports hears that the Diamondbacks are close to trading left-hander Wade Miley.

Advice: The D-Backs have gotten lots of calls on Miley, with the Red Sox and Marlins among the interested teams. The 28-year-old southpaw posted a 4.34 ERA and 183/75 K/BB ratio in 201 1/3 innings this past season and could benefit by getting out of Arizona. He's arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter.

Wed, Dec 10 Rotoworld
FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports that the Red Sox and Marlins are in active discussions regarding a Wade Miley deal.

Advice: The chances of a Miley trade are increasing, according to Rosenthal and Jon Morosi. Miley wasn't really any good last season, but he's young, cheap and still viewed as having some upside after his fine rookie season in 2012. It still wouldn't make sense to give up all that much for him.
