Player Notes
Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Friday that Ben Revere will bat at the bottom of the batting order and platoon in left field.

Advice: He'll be on the strong side of a platoon, but hitting ninth instead of leadoff obviously hurts Revere's run-scoring potential. He'll still have plenty of fantasy value going from Philadelphia to Toronto, though.

Blue Jays acquired OF Ben Revere from the Phillies for RHP Alberto Tirado and RHP Jimmy Cordero.

Advice: The Jays got a nice complimentary piece for their outfield. Revere shouldn't start over Kevin Pillar in center, but he can fill in there on occasion. He'll probably end up platooning with Chris Colabello in left field, giving the Jays more defense there at the cost of power. His fantasy value would seem to drop some, since he could hit low in the order and play less than he might have elsewhere. Still, he remains worth using in mixed leagues. The Phillies have freed up more at-bats for Domonic Brown and Cody Asche as they try to figure out their 2016 outfield.

MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports that the Blue Jays have acquired Ben Revere from the Phillies.

Advice: It's unclear at this point what the Blue Jays are giving up in return. Revere will take over in left field for Toronto and possibly slide into the leadoff spot. He could score a ton of runs in front of that dynamic offense.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal was told by one source that there's a "50/50" chance the Orioles trade for Ben Revere.

Advice: The O's have already added Gerardo Parra, but they're still seeking some outfield help. Revere has also been connected with the Blue Jays, but it sounds like their interest has died down a bit. He's under team control through 2017.

ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Blue Jays "aren't interested" in Ben Revere at the current asking price.

Advice: This comes after multiple reports had talks between the Jays and Phillies about the outfielder progressing, but obviously significant ground needs to be made up. Olney says the Phils "are talking to some other team." It's unclear which club that is, but the Orioles reportedly still have some interest even after acquiring Gerardo Parra.

Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com reports that the Blue Jays' trade talks with the Phillies involving Ben Revere are "heating up."

Advice: CBS Sports' Jon Heyman has confirmed that the Jays are in on Revere. It's unclear what the Phillies might receive in return, but Toronto makes sense for a landing spot for Revere since they're looking for left field help. The speedy outfielder could also be an option to hit leadoff.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Orioles are trying to acquire both Ben Revere and Gerardo Parra.

Advice: Picking up two corner outfielders would allow them to move Chris Davis back to first base. Revere is making $4.1 million this season and is under team control through 2017, while Parra will be a free agent this winter.

According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Phillies' next trade could involve Ben Revere.

Advice: Rosenthal says at least one American League club has expressed interest in the 27-year-old speedster, who entered play Thursday with a .298/.335/.376 slash line and 24 stolen bases in 95 games. Revere, who's under contractual control through 2017, would be a nice bench addition for any contending team.

Ben Revere is not in the Phillies starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the Cubs.

Advice: It doesn't appear to be anything more than a day of rest for Revere, who has been a popular name in trade rumblings this week. Odubel Hererra will start in his place in center field and will bat second for the Phillies against Jake Arrieta.
