Player Notes
Jake Arrieta (shoulder) will make what he hopes will be his final minor league rehab start with High-A Daytona on Monday.

Advice: If all goes well, he could rejoin the Cubs rotation over the weekend in Milwaukee. He's expected to displace Carlos Villanueva from the rotation once he returns.

Jake Arrieta (shoulder) will make at least one more minor league rehab start at Double-A Tennessee before being an option to return to the Cubs rotation.

Advice: Cubs manager Rick Renteria was pleased with the reports from Arrieta's first rehab start. Once he's ready to return, he'll replace Carlos Villanueva in the Cubs rotation.

Jake Arrieta (shoulder) tossed 3 2/3 scoreless innings in his second rehab start Thursday at Double-A Tennessee.

Advice: Arrieta surrendered one unearned run over three innings in his rehab debut last week with Tennessee. He still needs to get his pitch count up and probably won't be an option for the Cubs' rotation until late April. The right-hander had shoulder problems this spring.

Jake Arrieta (shoulder) will make his second minor league rehab start Thursday at Double-A Tennessee.

Advice: Arrieta yielded one unearned run over three innings in his rehab debut last week with Tennessee. The Cubs are moving the right-hander along slowly, but he should be a candidate for the rotation around late April. He battled shoulder inflammation for much of spring training.
