Player Notes
Yan Gomes drove in four runs in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Gomes was locked in on Twins' starter Trevor May. He hit an RBI single in the third, then smashed a three-run homer a few innings later, sending May to the showers. Gomes now has 70 RBI and 20 home runs on the year for the Indians, who have won four in a row to keep their playoff chances alive. After hitting like a man on fire for July (.329/.367/.624) and August (.349/.369/.540), Gomes had been hitting like a man who just wanted to watch the leaves fall in September (.238/.242/.444). Then, Trevor May entered his life. Despite the slight cool-down this month, he's still slashing .288/.321/.484 in what has been a career year.

Yan Gomes went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a win over the Astros Tuesday.

Advice: Gomes hit the homer, his 19th of the year, in the sixth inning to give the Indians a lead they wouldn't relinquish. The catcher is setting personal bests across the board this year, owning 64 RBI to go with a .286/.320/.477 line.

Yan Gomes homered, doubled and knocked in three runs Thursday against the Twins.

Advice: The homer was his first in 12 games since he returned from a concussion. Gomes has 18 homers and 62 RBI for the year, making him one of the game's best offensive catchers. He's no slouch behind the dish, either.
