Advice: As expected, he hasn't been catching back-to-back games as he eased back into things in his return from the disabled list. Roberto Perez is behind the dish in Gomes' place.

Advice: Gomes went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his first game back from the disabled list Sunday. He had missed six weeks with an MCL sprain in his right knee. Roberto Perez is at catcher Monday versus Rangers righty Phil Klein.Wed, May 27 Rotoworld
Advice: Gomes wound up missing six weeks out of a projected 6-8 week timetable after he went down with a right MCL sprain. The Indians will not let him catch back-to-back games initially, so Roberto Perez will still see a decent amount of time behind the plate over the next couple weeks.Mon, May 25 Rotoworld
Advice: He will start the series finale versus the Reds. Gomes will be catching a full nine innings for the first time on his rehab assignment on Friday, and the Indians will be careful with him initially upon his return, not playing him in back-to-back games. Brett Hayes had been filling in as the club's backup catch and will be sent down on Sunday.

Advice: Gomes will catch his first full game on his rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus on Friday. The likelihood is that he'll then join the Indians Saturday before being activated and playing on Sunday. Gomes is not expected to play in back-to-back games right away, as the Indians want to ease him back into things after he missed over a month with a right MCL sprain.

Advice: That's after he catches five frames on Monday. Obviously the Indians will want him to go nine innings before considering activating him, but manager Terry Francona said it won't be necessary for Gomes to catch back-to-back games. He's expected back pretty soon. "We understand that especially being a catcher, he's not going to be built up to where you can start playing him back-to-back," Francona said. "As long as he's healthy, we can activate him. Having him catch three times a week is better than not. We have to make sure he's completely healthy, so he can play the game."
