Player Notes
Buster Posey hit a two-run home run as the Giants beat the Padres 4-3 on Sunday.

Advice: With one runner aboard in the first inning, Posey took Robbie Erlin to deep to center for his fourth homer of the year. It was his only hit on the afternoon, and the catcher is batting an uncharacteristic .238/.314/.444 through the early games. He's got just three RBI in his last eight games.

Buster Posey returned to action as a pinch hitter in Friday's loss to the Padres.

Advice: Posey was held out of the starting lineup on Friday after taking a foul ball off his shoulder during Thursday's game. He was tasked with coming off the bench cold in the eighth inning and having to face a dominant Tyson Ross, which resulted in a strike out. He'll be back behind the dish on Saturday for the Giants.

Buster Posey is not in the Giants starting lineup on Friday.

Advice: Posey took a foul tip off the shoulder during Thursday's contest, but was due for a day off anyways according to manager Bruce Bochy. Expect him back behind the dish on Saturday.

Buster Posey could sit out Friday's game after taking a foul tip off the shoulder in Thursday's game.

Advice: Posey stayed in to finish the game, but he's feeling a little sore. It's a good excuse to give him a little breather Friday and give Hector Sanchez a start.

Buster Posey is not listed in the Giants starting lineup for Friday night's contest against the Rockies.

Advice: It appears to be just a regular day of rest for the star-studded backstop. Hector Sanchez will take his place behind the dish and hit fifth for the Giants. He makes for an interesting option in daily fantasy leagues.
