Player Notes
Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports that Alex Cobb is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks with his strained left oblique.

Advice: It's a terrible blow to the Rays rotation. Erik Bedard will attempt to hold down Cobb's spot for the time being, and could be worth a look in deeper mixed fantasy leagues for his ability to miss bats.

Rays placed RHP Alex Cobb on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain.

Advice: Cobb suffered the injury early on during Saturday's start versus the Reds but still managed to toss seven shutout innings. He's been sent to undergo an MRI to learn the extent of the damage, but oblique injuries usually require more than a minimum stay on the DL. Erik Bedard will take Cobb's spot in the rotation.

Alex Cobb spun seven shutout frames in a 1-0 win over the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Cobb was excellent, holding the Reds to just four hits, no walks, and one hit batsman. He struck out five batters and induced 11 ground balls. With a 1.89 ERA through his first three starts, Cobb has a legitimate chance to emerge as one of the AL's top starters this year. He'll get the Yankees next at home.

Sun, Apr 13 Rotoworld
Alex Cobb threw seven scoreless innings, giving up just three hits and a walk, but took a no-decision against the Rangers on Sunday.

Advice: Cobb got hit hard in his first start on Tuesday, but he rebounded nicely Sunday to strike out six while not allowing a run. He arguably outpitched his counterpart, Yu Darvish, but the Rays were unable to reward him with a victory. Cobb will continue to look for his first win next week against the Reds in an interleague matchup.
