Player Notes
Alex Cobb (elbow) will throw another bullpen session Tuesday, at which point the Rays will decide if he's ready to resume his rehab assignment.

Advice: Cobb was pulled off his rehab assignment last week due to arm fatigue. It's something that's fairly common when a pitcher is coming back from a major operation, so there shouldn't be much worry. However, he's probably not going to be an option for the Rays' rotation until late August, at the earliest. It's unclear he'll do much for fantasy owners this season.

Alex Cobb (elbow) threw 28 pitches off a mound Wednesday at Tropicana Field.

Advice: Cobb was pulled off his rehab assignment this week after leaving a start last week at High-A Charlotte with arm fatigue. At least it sounds like it wasn't a major setback. He remains without a timetable for his return from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery.

Alex Cobb (elbow) has been officially pulled off his minor league rehab assignment.

Advice: Cobb was lifted from a rehab start last week at High-A Charlotte due to arm fatigue and the Rays want to give him time on the side to work through that. They believe it to be a mechanical issue. "We felt this was the right time to do it," manager Kevin Cash said. "We want to make sure he gets his full rehab and can work through the process at his pace a little bit." There is currently no timetable for Cobb's return from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery.

Alex Cobb (elbow) made it through a successful bullpen session Sunday.

Advice: And he'll throw another one Wednesday before possibly facing live hitters again. Cobb was pulled from a rehab start last week at High-A Charlotte after experiencing fatigue. He's still trying to rebuild strength following Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery and clearly has no timetable for activation at this point.

Alex Cobb (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Sunday to work on his mechanics.

Advice: Cobb was pulled from his rehab start Monday at High-A Charlotte after just one inning due to fatigue. He's still rebuilding the strength of his right arm coming out of Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery. Rays manager Kevin Cash said Friday that it's not a significant setback and that Cobb could pitch again on Tuesday or Wednesday.
