Advice: McGee is working in the mid-90s, and he's been dominant in three outings since coming off the DL, striking out six, walking none and allowed just one hit in three innings. He should be in the mix for save chances, assuming Kevin Cash was true to his word. Brad Boxberger is being used as a traditional closer right now.7 hours ago Rotoworld
Advice: McGee allowed a single but struck out two in the inning, throwing 11 strikes among his 15 pitches. He's now struck out four over two innings of work since returning from the disabled list. McGee may eventually regain the closer role, but he'll likely continue to pitch in a setup capacity for as long as Brad Boxberger is performing well in the ninth.Thu, May 21 Rotoworld
Advice: "I don't anticipate anybody assuming any role," Cash said. Brad Boxberger has converted all 10 of his save chances while handling the ninth inning, so it would be a surprise if he's pulled from the closer role right away. McGee could eventually work his way back into the gig, but this has the makings of a potentially messy situation for fantasy owners.

Advice: The hard-throwing southpaw had arthroscopic elbow surgery in December and will have missed roughly the first six weeks of the regular season. Brad Boxberger has excelled in the closer's role in his absence, so it's unclear if McGee will immediately reclaim his role of if he'll have to earn it. Either way, he could carry substantial fantasy value, especially in deeper mixed leagues and AL-only formats.Fri, May 15 Rotoworld
Advice: McGee, who had December arthroscopic elbow surgery, tossed six scoreless innings during his minor league rehab assignment while giving up six hits and posting a 6/4 K/BB ratio. Brad Boxberger has been great while filling in at closer, so the southpaw will likely be eased back into things.

Advice: As long as he wakes up with no abnormal discomfort, McGee should be cleared to join the Rays' bullpen on Friday. The 28-year-old left-handed closer is on his way back from December elbow surgery and has not allowed a run in six innings on the farm. He posted a dominant 1.89 ERA across 71 1/3 innings last season for Tampa Bay.
