Player Notes
Matt Kemp went 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBI in Tuesday's 8-4 win against the Braves.

Advice: Kemp's two-run homer to the opposite field in the second off Atlanta starter Aaron Harang put the Dodgers up 2-1, and his two-run shot to dead center in the seventh gave Los Angeles a 7-4 lead. He went 103 plate appearances between hitting his last homer on June 25. This was the seventh multi-homer game of Kemp's career. His slash line is up to .282/.347/.453 to go with 10 homers and 44 RBI.

WEEI.com's Rob Bradford reports that the Red Sox are "not looking to trade for" Matt Kemp at the moment.

Advice: ESPN Boston's Gordon Edes reported Sunday that the Sox were considering a run at Kemp, possibly as part of a package that would send Jon Lester to the Dodgers. Bradford, though, is hearing otherwise. The Mariners are known to have interest in Kemp, but Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan said Sunday that he's more of a backup plan for them at this time. The Dodgers will have to eat a big portion of the $107 million Kemp is owed after this season in order to make a deal happen.

ESPN Boston's Gordon Edes reports that the Red Sox are considering trying to acquire Matt Kemp from the Dodgers.

Advice: The Dodgers have reportedly been shopping Kemp around, but would likely have to eat a large portion of his remaining salary (he's owed $107 million between 2015-2019) to make a deal work. Edes suggests that Jon Lester -- who is scheduled to become a free agent this winter --- could be involved in the return package heading to the Dodgers. Los Angeles is known to be seeking a starting pitcher at the trade deadline and Boston would be a seemingly-excellent change of scenery for Kemp.

Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan reports that while he's considered a backup plan at the moment, the Mariners' interest in Matt Kemp is "very real."

Advice: Passan says the M's plan would be to eventually transition Kemp into a designated hitter role. Seattle is still searching for a right-handed bat even after the acquisition of switch-hitter Kendrys Morales. The Dodgers undoubtedly would have to eat a bunch of the $107 million Kemp is owed after this season, but they seem motivated to trade the outfielder. Kemp is hitting .273/.339/.429 with eight homers and 40 RBI this season.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that five teams "are said to have shown interest, or at least talked to" the Dodgers about Matt Kemp.

Advice: Rival executives have told Heyman that they "have the feeling the Dodgers are ready to move on" from Kemp. It's no surprise, of course, as they have a logjam of outfielders and Kemp hasn't been thrilled about moving from center to left field. Kemp sports a decent .268/.333/.422 batting line with eight homers and 38 RBI this season, but the Dodgers will undoubtedly have to pick up a large portion of the $107 million Kemp is owed after this season in order to find a taker for him.
