Buchholz is expected to remain as the Rockies' eighth-inning set-up man even if closer Brian Fuentes is traded, the Rockies' official web site reports. Recommendation: Manny Corpas would leapfrog Buchholz into the closer's role if Fuentes is dealt. Buchholz has only appeared in two games since July 11 because of game situations. He has slumped a bit in July (1-1, 4.05 ERA in 6.2 innings), although he has still been outstanding this season and his K/9 IP ratio in July (9.45) is his best of the season. |
