Player Notes
Matt Holliday is not in the Cardinals' starting lineup on Thursday afternoon versus the Mets.

Advice: Holliday went 3-for-4 in Wednesday night's 9-0 rout of New York, but the 35-year-old will take a day of rest in Thursday's series finale. Mark Reynolds is in left field, Randal Grichuk is in center field, and Jason Heyward is in right field in the matinee.

Matt Holliday (elbow) has been added to the Cardinals' lineup as the DH for Thursday's matinee in Cleveland.

Advice: Holliday wasn't on the initial lineup carp, but his bruised left elbow apparently felt good enough during pregame warmups. He got struck by a Corey Kluber fastball in the top of the first inning Wednesday night, but tests were taken and they all turned up negative.

Matt Holliday (elbow) is not in the Cardinals' starting lineup Thursday against the Indians.

Advice: Holliday suffered a deep contusion Wednesday when he was struck on the left elbow by a Corey Kluber fastball. He's considered day-to-day. Mark Reynolds is starting in left field for the Cardinals on Thursday afternoon.

Matt Holliday left Wednesday's game against the Indians with a left elbow contusion.

Advice: Holliday was hit on the elbow by a Corey Kluber pitch in the first inning, one of the only mistakes Kluber made all evening. The Cardinals are calling Holliday day to day, and he should be back in the lineup in a day or two.

Matt Holliday left Wednesday's game against the Indians after being hit by a pitch on the left elbow.

Advice: Holliday was hit by the pitch in the top of the first inning and he didn't come out of the dugout when the team took the field in the bottom of the second. Pete Kozma took his place in left field. The Cardinals should provide an update on his status shortly.

Matt Holliday finished 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and four RBI in Tuesday's win over the Indians.

Advice: Holliday had an RBI single in the fifth inning and added an important three-run blast in the eighth to extend the Cardinals' lead. The homer was just his third of the season as he's a notoriously slow starter in the power department, but he's got 21 RBI and a very productive .346/.462/.495 line on the year. The homers will come.
