Player Notes
Chris Capuano couldn't make it out of the fourth inning in his first start of the season, allowing four runs over three innings against the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Making his first start of the season after recovering from a spring quad injury, Capuano was understandably rusty. He struck out four and walked two in the contest, but ran into trouble to start the fourth inning, when he walked the first two batters before allowing back-to-back RBI singles by Kendrys Morales and Salvador Perez. Both runners would score after Capuano exited the game. Perez also dinged him for a solo home run in the second inning. It might take a start or two for Capuano to shake off the rust, but he holds value in AL-only leagues and deeper mixed leagues, as he posted a 4.25 ERA and 55/19 K/BB ratio in 65 2/3 innings (12 starts) for the Yankees last season. He'll get his first home start of the season when he takes on the Rangers later this week.

Yankees activated LHP Chris Capuano from the 15-day disabled list.

Advice: He'll make his season debut on Sunday against the Royals after missing the first handful of weeks of the season with a quad injury. Capuano should remain in the rotation as long as he performs and is worth a look in deeper formats.

Chris Capuano will start for the Yankees on Sunday against the Royals.

Advice: There had been speculation that with two off-days next week that the Yankees could let Capuano make one more minor league rehab start before taking the place of the injured Chase Whitley in the Yankees rotation, but it looks as though he's good to go. As long as he's healthy, Capuano is certainly worth a look in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi confirmed Thursday that Chris Capuano will take the spot of the injured Chase Whitley in the Yankees' rotation.

Advice: Chase Whitley had to leave his start on Thursday with an elbow injury, and though more won't be known until after his MRI on Friday, it sounds as though he'll need a lengthy stint on the disabled list. Capuano has proven to be mixed league relevant in the past with his ability to miss bats, and could be a worthwhile waiver addition as long as he can remain healthy.
