Player Notes
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Brewers have re-signed closer Francisco Rodriguez to a two-year contract with a club option for the 2017 season.

Advice: FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal says the deal is worth $13 million guaranteed. This marriage has seemed inevitable for a while now, but it took all offseason for the two sides to officially come to an agreement. K-Rod posted a strong 3.04 ERA, 0.985 WHIP, and 73/18 K/BB ratio in 68 innings last season for the Brewers while tallying 44 saves in 49 opportunities. He should again be a highly valuable fantasy closer in 2015. Jonathan Broxton is back to setup duty.

Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports that free agent right-hander Francisco Rodriguez has agreed to terms with a team and it isn't the Marlins.

Advice: The best guess is that he has re-signed with the Brewers after an offseason-spanning holdout. Rodriguez posted a 3.04 ERA and 73/18 K/BB ratio in 68 innings last year for Milwaukee, also converting 44-of-49 save opportunities. There should be more info soon about where exactly he is headed. The Nationals and Blue Jays have also been tied to the 34-year-old reliever at different points this winter.

MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports that the Nationals "may be a third team lurking" in the pursuit of Francisco Rodriguez.

Advice: CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reported earlier Tuesday that the Brewers and Marlins were still in talks with K-Rod and the reliever was expected to make a decision soon. Frisaro confirmed Heyman's report but is also listing the Nationals as a potential dark horse. Common sense would say the Brewers have to be the favorite since K-Rod is familiar with them and would be used at closer, though it's possible another club will out-bid them.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Brewers and Marlins continue to talk to free agent Francisco Rodriguez and a deal is expected to happen soon.

Advice: K-Rod would return to the closer role if he re-signs with Milwaukee, but Miami would likely use him as a setup man for Steve Cishek. The 34-year-old had a 3.04 ERA and 73/18 K/BB ratio in 68 innings last season while going 44-for-49 in save opportunities. He's reportedly seeking a $10 million deal, but it could be a challenge for him to get that kind of money at this point.

Ken Rosenthal reports that Brewers owner Mark Attanasio is talking to Scott Boras about free agent right-hander Francisco Rodriguez.

Advice: A reunion with the Brewers has seemed like one of the most likely destinations for Rodriguez since he hit the open market, and now that he's reportedly willing to accept a one-year deal, it could make sense for both parties. If signed, he'd likely return to his familiar closer role with Jonathan Broxton working in front of him in the eighth inning.
