Player Notes
John Lackey was hit hard for six runs over 5 1/3 innings in Friday's loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Lackey gave up 10 hits and four walks before exiting in the sixth inning. The 35-year-old has now given up six runs in back-to-back outings. He gave up six runs or more just once last year. While Lackey owns an ugly 5.25 ERA through four starts this year, he has at least struck out 23 batters in 24 innings. He'll attempt to turn the tide next week against the Yankees at home. Those in mixed leagues might want to sit out that matchup.

John Lackey was hammered in Saturday's loss to the Yankees, surrendering a career-high four home runs in 5 2/3 innings.

Advice: Brian McCann did the bulk of the damage with a pair of homers and three RBI, while Carlos Beltran and Alfonso Soriano also left the yard. The final tally against him was six runs on 10 hits, all of it coming via the long ball. He did at least strike out six, to provide some value in fantasy leagues to go with the disaster. He'll head into Friday's start against the Orioles with a 3.86 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 17/3 K/BB ratio.
