Wells went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Friday's loss to the Yankees. Recommendation: While it was a nice day for the struggling center fielder, his production has dropped off from month-to-month since the beginning of the season. Wells finished June with a .212/.259/.346 line along with two homers and 11 RBI in 104 at-bats. Fortunately for Wells owners, he's been able to drive in a decent number of runs (37) and steal some bases (12) despite being an overall disappointment. At least part of his .252 average can be attributed to an unlucky .264 BABIP (entering play on Friday), however, so there is some buy-low upside to be considered. |

CF Vernon Wells, who is in a 2-for-19 skid and managed just two home runs and 11 RBIs in June, was dropped down in the batting order to sixth for Friday's game. LF/DH Adam Lind has taken over for Wells in the No. 3 spot. Wells responded by going 2-for-4 with a solo home run. It was the first time he's batted sixth since June 3, 2005. |

Wells was held out of the starting lineup and was booed when he came on as a defensive replacement in the ninth inning of Toronto's 5-0 win over the Rays on Wednesday. Advice: Wells, stuck in a 2-for-19 slump, is batting .248 with seven home runs and 36 RBIs. |
