Burnett struck out seven and walked two while holding his former team to two runs on six hits over seven innings on Friday afternoon. Recommendation: Walks have been an issue for Burnett recently, although he's pitched fairly well with a 5-2 record over his last seven starts. If you can stomach the turbulence with his WHIP (1.36), there's still plenty of wins (seven), strikeouts (99) and a good ERA (3.83) to benefit from. |

RHP A.J. Burnett fared better against his old team than he did the first time he faced them this season, throwing seven innings of two-run ball in the Yankees' 4-2 victory over the Blue Jays. Burnett had been roughed up in his return to Toronto on May 12, when he yielded five runs on seven hits in 7 2/3 innings and took the loss. Burnett has settled in as a top-of-the-rotation starter for the Yankees lately, though, allowing just nine runs in his last 43 innings. |
