Burnett lost his second straight start on Monday, when the visiting Blue Jays dropped the opener of a doubleheader 3-0 against Cleveland. The Blue Jays, though, won the nightcap, 3-0 in 10 innings. Advice: Burnett gave up three runs and five hits, while striking out seven in 7 2-3 innings. He fell to 3-4 with a 4.94 ERA in nine games this season. Burnett lost to Tampa Bay in his previous outing, and now hopes to avoid his first three-start skid in nearly three years. He last dropped three consecutive starts during a five-game skid from Aug. 24-Sept. 14, 2005, while playing for Florida. |
